Latimer Soap Works is now carrying a line of Melt & Pour Soapmaking supplies at the Westport store. Check out what we have – Clear or Opaque Melt & Pour 1lb blocks, fragrance oils, liquid pigments, colour bars, and all kinds of molds! Learn to make your own soap – it’s fun and easy.

As well we have a full line of pure essential oils, that can be used as is, or mixed with our unscented bases of lotion, bath & body oil, or liquid soap.

We are now carrying Dead Sea Mineral Mud for facial and body masques. This incredibly mineral rich mud is world famous for it’s detoxifying and cleansing properties. We also have many new fair trade gift items from around the world, and local artisans’ works.

Visit the beautiful village of Westport this summer, and the World Heritage site of the Rideau Canal.

We are open daily, Mondays through Fridays from 12-5, Saturdays 11-5 and Sundays 12-4.

We will be reopening Latimer Soap Works in Westport on March 5, 2011, and will be open Saturdays only 11-5,until the Easter Weekend (April 22) at which time our hours will change to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

We are looking forward to our 4th year in Westport and the (hopefully) spring weather.  We have many new additions to our inventory in Westport, including Nikita Salad Dressings and Vinaigrettes, an all natural, locally made line of salad dressings, as well as many fair-trade, hand- made products from around the world.  We will be featuring a new line of soaps, inspired by my visit to Hawaii this winter, incorporating the gorgeous rich macadamia nut and kukui oils, with the subtle scents of ginger, green tea, pineapple, coconut and other Polynesian specialties.

For those of you who are novice soap makers or are interested in learning the craft, we will be doing several workshops this year. We have one scheduled in July at Wintergreen Studios  and look for more to come at The Glass House in Kingston as well as at the store in Westport in the summer months.

We have also recently acquired K&W Specialties Ltd , a 15 year old Soap making supply business based in Haliburton, Ontario which will be moving to Inverary in March.
